Our Activities

 

Our main activity has been working towards the Arocha Eco-church Silver Award, which we secured in March 2021. This involved making progress in five areas:

  • worship and teaching - services

  • buildings - energy saving  

  • land - church garden

  • community and global engagement

  • lifestyle - congregational survey

Eco-themed services

  • 3 eco-themed services a year

  • recently their focus has been campaigning for climate change.

Reducing heat loss
  • we have been exploring the feasibility of installing secondary glazing in the main church hall, to reduce heat loss as revealed in the thermal image above
  • this project is currently on hold due to funding issues but we are hoping to return to it soon,
Lifestyle survey

  • we conducted a survey of congregational lifestyles to see where we need to make progress as individuals and families
